There is not enough space here to list the musical accomplishments of Adam Rafferty and Brian Geltner, but I'd like to extend a warm thanks to both of these dear friends for making this endeavor an unmitigated delight.

Musically speaking, I am not a purist. As far as I can tell, there is no such thing as pure music. That is to say, if you peel away the historical layers in a given style of music, sooner or later, you'll find that even the most refined style was really just the bastard child of cultural collision. This is in fact true of Bossa Nova music itself.

In any case, the goal here was not purely to imitate, but-- using Jobim and others for inspiration-- aspire to something with the same compositional logic, the same emphasis on groove and sound that makes the music of Brazil so hip and alluring.
